SeedPaths, a startup company that provides software development and job skills training to disadvantaged and low-income young adults to help them find and keep technology jobs, chose MAPR to help launch the company’s recurring technology boot camp. In addition, SeedPaths also runs a staffing and recruiting company that places top-tier talent to help Denver-area tech companies grow their businesses with the right team in place.
The company employs a one-of-a-kind model which funds the program through profits from its IT recruiting division along with federal government funding, allowing qualified students to attend free of charge.
MAPR was tapped to not only provide an introductory public relations strategy, but mentoring services to the students and to help SeedPaths establish partnerships with other Denver metro area businesses that would help further the innovative program, as well. Our strategy had three parts: 1) we needed to cater to and attract students to participate in the program; 2) we needed to develop relationships with companies who would hire graduates of the program; and 3) we needed to find potential donors and sponsors.
MAPR helped SeedPaths successfully launch their intensive and innovative program and about 78 percent of students who come to SeedPaths have been able to find a job in tech after completing the two-month coding and workforce-training program. Although the program is Denver-based, our public relations outreach has helped SeedPaths’ visibility spread nationally through media coverage in the Wall Street Journal and VentureBeat. We also helped SeedPaths secure local coverage in several publications, including the Denver Post, Built In Colorado, 5280 Magazine and the Colorado Independent.
